Meeting Minutes

April 6^th 2006

I. Call to Order: 8:05 PM

Board Members Present:

President-Joe Tringale; Vice President-Rick Archambault; Treasurer-Phil Good; Picture Coordinator-Scott Robertson; Secretary-Mark Pistorino; Registrar – Kevin Horrigan; Travel Coordinator Bill Mathews;

 

II. Secretary's Report:

• Minutes from March meeting read and accepted.

 

III. Treasurer's Report:

·        Phil Good read and submitted monthly Treasurer's Report which was accepted.

·        Ending balance - $33,076 in checking account, $45,643 in term deposit and $59,971 in the field account. Total balance $138,690.

 

IV. Intramurals:

• Need age directors
• “K” Spring program beginning. 15 coaches and 120 players – Either 10 teams of 12 players, or 12 teams of 10 players.

 

V.   Travel Teams/MYSL

• Bill M. sent email for home schedule - all games at Walton Field (2 fields)
• Bill distributed the field lining schedule
• Tryout schedule – 5/21/06 and 6/4/06

Boy’s & Girls U10	12:00 – 1:30	Walsh field
Girls U12	3:00 – 4:30	Walsh field
Boys U12	1:30 – 3:00	Walsh field
Boys U14	4:30 – 6:00	Walton field
Girls U14	6:00 – 7:30	Walton field

 

·        MYSL

o       All coaches were in attendance for mandatory meeting

o       Coaches need to call opposing coach to confirm games

o       None of Medford’s teams have cards in.

o       Do not play games if team is ineligible

o       Lincoln’s fields are closed until April 15^th

o       Westford’s fields may not be available this upcoming weekend.

o       Roster’s will be distributed after meeting

o       GU12 I, GU10 I, and GU14 IV cards not ready yet. Someone will need to volunteer to drive to Concord to pick-up.

o       MTOC – U12, U14, and U16. Wild card teams this year. First and second place qualifies for State Tournament. State Tournament will be played in Amherst.

o       Bad Weather Procedure

§         Coaches do not call games.  President and Travel Coordinator make decision.

§         Travel Coordinator will call Referee Coordinator

§         Wakefield coach calls opposing coach and players.

§         Once a field is closed, it is closed for the day.

§         Cancellations will be posted on website by 8:00 AM

§         Coaches to call Bill Mathews (Travel Coordinator) to reschedule games.

§         Coach calls Age Director

§         Age Director will assign referee

§         U10’s are exception – Call Bill for referee.

 

o       Coaches need to speak with Age Director’s

o       Need scores reported by Sunday Night www.mysl.net

o       Games will be played April vacation week

o       School and religion are only legitimate reasons for not playing games.

o       Games do not have to be played on Memorial Day, but must be rescheduled and played before Memorial Day.

o       Email age director if error made in recording scores

o       Coaches must keep parents and assistant coaches “in-line”

o       Zero tolerance policy discussed

o       MYSL does not have zero tolerance

 

VI. Pictures

·        September 16^th & 17^th tentatively scheduled for pictures. Scott is waiting approval from Barry Haley regarding High School football schedule.  If HS games are home that weekend, pictures will be following weekend

 

VII. Registrar

·        Need volunteers for April 30^th and May 3^rd walk-in registrations.  Volunteers please contact Kevin Horrigan.

 

VIII. Other Business – Vice President

§         Lengthy discussion on fields, number of travel teams, etc. No resolutions.

§         Uniforms distributed
