Meeting  Minutes

September 4, 2008

 

Board Members Present:

President Jim Fitzgerald; Vice President Mike Boudreau; Travel Coordinator Steve Logan; Intramural Coordinator Kevin Horrigan; Pictures Scott Robertson, Web Master Dan White; Treasurer Joe Tringale; Town Coordinator Stephen de Garavilla

 

Secretary’s Report:

The minutes from the August 7, 2008 meeting are posted on the Wakefield Youth Soccer web site.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

The Treasurer’s report is posted on the Wakefield Youth Soccer web site.

 

Webmaster’s Report:

          Schedules for travel teams only are on the web site.

If the schedule is canceled due to rain it will be posted on the web site for both Travel and Intramurals.

 

Picture Coordinator’s Report:

          Pictures will be taken on September 13 &14 at the WHS Field House.

          Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

          No cleats allowed in the gym.

          Coaches need to pick up their envelopes after the meeting.

          Anyone willing to help on picture day should let Scot know.

 

Intramural Program (General discussion, question & answers):

          Grade 5-8 games will be played at Nasella.

          No make up games for intramurals.

          If the first game is canceled, the entire day is canceled.

          K and Grade 1 games will start September 13.

          Registration for K-1 is still open.

          The coach of the first game must pick up the equipment.

          The coach of the final game must return the equipment.

 

 

Travel Team Report:

          Season starts September 6.

          Get all roster changes to Steve Logan before October 1.

Some of the schedules in Sports Manager have been updated to group games for the referees and to work around the High School schedule.

Check your schedule and contact your opposing coaches.

Travel teams should practice where they play their games.

 

Vice President’s Report:

          Shirts are available tonight for Intramural Coaches.

          Jackets are available tonight for Travel Coaches.

          Fleece pullovers are available tonight for Board Members.

Some intramural teams may be short shirts. More are on order; some are available tonight that will work until the new ones arrive.

Balls and other equipment is available after the meeting.

If anyone needs additional equipment see Mike.

 

League Report:

          The League Report is posted on the web site.

 

General Information:

          The WSA-WHS Soccer Nights will be held on September 29 and

October 16.  All coaches should encourage their players to attend.

 

The Dolbeare School project is on hold.

 

The Constitution and by-laws will be discussed at a later meeting.

 

Next meeting October 2, 2008.
