Update on the 2020 Spring Season

Posted In: General WSA News, Registration News

Dear WSA parents, players and coaches,

First and foremost, we wish you and your family safety and health as we currently remain in very uncertain times. It is with great disappointment that we provide you with this notice about the cancellation of the 2020 Spring Soccer season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes, but is not limited to all games (of all types), practices, clinics, training, tournaments, in-person meetings, and Coaching Education Courses. This applies to both our travel and in-town programs.

All Wakefield fields remain closed until July 6, 2020 for any type of activity.  Please do not go to fields to shoot around or play pick-up games, etc.

WSA may offer summer recreational playing opportunities, but all is dependent on state and local health rules.  Currently, we are planning for a full fall season.

In the meantime, for fun training challenges and activities, follow our Instagram acct @wakefieldsoccer, Facebook page, and/or check in on the website at https://www.wakefieldsoccer.org/training-at-home/

We will now process reimbursements for spring registration fees.   A credit for any future soccer registration has been applied to your SportsManager account for all of your spring fees.  If you would prefer a refund check instead, please submit a request through this REIMBURSEMENT FORM no later than JUNE 1, 2020.

Thank you for patience as we work through this process.

Be Safe, Stay Healthy !

Spring 2020 Intramural Registration News

Posted In: General WSA News, Intramural News, Registration News

Hello,

Due to the uncertainty of when and if we will be able to have a spring 2020 intramural season, registration has been placed on hold. The Wakefield Soccer Association is working with Essex County Youth Soccer Association as well as Massachusetts Youth Soccer to comply with their decisions as to when regular soccer activities may resume. In addition, the WSA finance committee and its Board of Directors are crafting a refund policy for both intramural and travel soccer for the spring. Your patience is appreciated in these unprecedented times.

When and if the season is allowed to resume I have posted a sign up genius link below for parents of intramural aged players (tots 3-4, Pre-K and K – grade 2) who have not already registered for the spring. By filling out this list you are not financially committed to enroll your child if the spring season does commence. This list will be used to determine teams and other logistical decisions that will have to be made quickly once the season is allowed to start.
