Wakefield Soccer offers a variety of programs for every season. Below are short descriptions to help you quickly determine the programs that your child(ren) may be interested and eligible for. To obtain more details about each program, just click on the program name.
This recreational program is for our youngest players (ages 2 – 4) with a curriculum emphasizing fun and learning very basic soccer fundamentals.
This recreational program is for young players just starting to learn the game of soccer. Weekly one hour sessions focus on having fun but emphasize skill development through our weekly curriculum.
This recreational program will develop the players’ technical skills and prepare them for taking the next step in their soccer careers. Professional coaches run the week-day one-hour practice sessions. Small-sided games are held on a weekend day.
These recreational programs are for kids that just want to play soccer on a once-a-week basis without having the commitment of a two-season (travel) schedule with scheduled practices and game days. The teams are co-ed and play on teams that are made up randomly with the kids in attendance.
The Travel program is for kids that want to participate in a more competitive, multi-town league. Players need to commit to a two-season schedule with twice-a-week practices followed by games on Saturdays, half of which are in Wakefield and the other half in surrounding towns. Kids must attend tryouts to be eligible for placement on a team.
The High School Travel program is for kids that want to participate in a competitive, multi-town league in the spring only – so that it does not interfere with the fall high school soccer programs. There are only 7 games which are played on Sundays, half of which are in Wakefield and the other half in surrounding towns. Kids must attend tryouts to be eligible for placement on a team.
