Tryout Overview

We understand that tryouts can be a stressful time, whether it’s your first or fourth time through it.  WSA regularly reviews its tryout and placement process with the goal of maintaining a fair, objective, and thorough process for assessing player abilities and skills. We work hard to place each player on a team that will best challenge their current level of play and allow them to have a fun and rewarding season playing soccer.

Tryout Schedule

There are two days of tryouts. Each tryout session is the same, consisting of both technical skills stations, and small-sided games.

If due to injury or other serious conflicts a player cannot make one or both tryout days, please provide WSA with written notification 72 hours before the tryout session that will be missed, by filling out this online Travel Tryout Absence Form.

Team Placements

After the tryouts are completed, a committee will review the scores and place players on teams. Coaches will be chosen for the teams from the pool of coach applicants. Team placement emails are usually sent in early July.
